HOW AMELIA WORKS
Amelia works directly with commissioners, platforms and production companies at key moments in the life of a project, from early development and greenlight through production and final edit.
Executive Producer / Showrunner
Senior creative leadership across the life of a production.
Amelia has extensive experience as an Executive Producer and Showrunner, leading productions from development through production and final delivery. Her work spans major returning series, authored documentary and new forms of nonfiction storytelling, including Executive Producing and Showrunning Tour de France: Unchained for Netflix and leading Top Dogs, immersive 3D documentaries created for Apple Vision Pro.
Editorial & Creative Consultancy
Senior editorial input shaped around the needs of each production.
Amelia helps creative teams unlock the dramatic potential of their material through rigorous attention to character and point of view, and a clear narrative architecture that builds stakes, tension and momentum. She brings both an Executive Producer’s overview and a filmmaker’s attention to detail, interrogating what is driving the story and what will keep an audience watching.
Her work is tailored around the needs and milestones of each production, from scripts and structure before filming to character, contributor and interview strategy during production, and through rushes, cuts and final edit.
Development to Greenlight
Shaping promising ideas into distinctive, commissionable projects.
Amelia works with broadcasters on their development slates, and with production companies developing projects for commission. Having worked on both sides of the development process, she brings an understanding of what makes a strong creative idea and what a commissioner needs to move it towards greenlight.
She interrogates the territory, access, characters and story to find the angle and point of view that can unlock an idea, while keeping a clear eye on what the intended broadcaster needs from it. And often continues to accompany projects she has helped to greenlight.

ABOUT AMELIA
Amelia Hann is a BAFTA-winning and International Emmy-nominated Executive Producer, filmmaker and senior creative consultant, with a career spanning documentary, factual entertainment and major returning series for broadcasters and platforms in the UK and internationally.
Her work combines ambitious storytelling with a strong instinct for a broad audience. Credits range from the three-year investigation The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Traffickers for Channel 4 and BAFTA-winning Ross Kemp on Gangs for Sky, to BAFTA-nominated The Undateables for Channel 4 and popular factual formats including Airport, Scrapheap Challenge and Wife Swap. She has worked as a Director, Executive Producer, Showrunner and senior creative leader in both the UK and US.
More recently, Amelia has brought that breadth of experience to premium nonfiction for international streamers. She was executive producer and showrunner on the first season of Tour de France: Unchained for Netflix, launching a major returning sports documentary series that reached audiences around the world and was nominated for an International Emmy. Today, her work combines Executive Producing and Showrunning with senior creative and editorial consultancy for platforms including Netflix and HBO Max and production companies across France, Spain, Canada, Brazil, the UK and US.
Recent projects include The TikTok Killer, her first Spanish-language consultancy, which reached #1 on Netflix in Spain, #2 in the UK and US and #4 globally. From Rockstar to Killer won Best Documentary at the 2025 Lauriers de l’audiovisuel and became part of a renewed public debate in France around femicide. Who Killed the Montreal Expos? won two Canadian Screen Awards, including Best History Documentary.
Amelia began her career as a self-shooting Producer/Director and was named one of the industry’s top ten directors by Broadcast, which described her as having a “brilliantly populist eye”. She studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge and Visual Anthropology at Manchester, and spent 2003–04 in Afghanistan establishing a film school for Afghan women and travelling the country with them to document its first UN-sanctioned democratic elections. She worked extensively in the US as successful UK factual entertainment formats began to cross the Atlantic, before moving into senior creative leadership, including as Head of Unscripted / Creative Director at Keshet International. She founded Honey Productions in 2016, launching the company with development funding and commissions from major UK broadcasters.
Half Danish, raised in France and now living between the UK and France, Amelia has always moved naturally between countries and cultures. She particularly enjoys entering an existing creative world, bringing her international experience while remaining attentive to what is particular about the story, the people and the place.
WORKSHOPS & MASTERCLASSES
Amelia also develops and delivers workshops and masterclasses in premium nonfiction storytelling for filmmakers and creative teams internationally.
She wrote and presented a five-part documentary filmmaking module for the Netflix Grow Creative Hub, available internationally, exploring how access to contributors can shape narrative, and how to capture the authentic, unpredictable moments that drive documentary storytelling.

She has designed and led workshops for filmmakers and creative teams in France, India and Brazil. Drawing directly on her work in contemporary documentary production, her workshops explore practical approaches to character, point of view and narrative structure, while recognising how storytelling choices shift across different cultures and documentary traditions.
